Bundeswehr Koppelschloss und Hosengurtel

Here's another of my favorite belts........... a post-war, Bundeswehr uniform belt. This belt is VERY similar to the German WW2 belts and buckles, with only minor differences (with the exception of the German logo and Eagle). I'm not sure of the age, but It is definitely pre-1990's. This belt looks GREAT with anything....... Kilt, jacket, or uniform...........

The logo, "Einigkeit, Recht, Freiheit", translates as, "Unity, Justice, Freedom".

Here are a couple of pictures of the belt being worn by the German Bundeswehr:

It is very similar to the WWII version when you consider it doesn't say:" Gott Mit Uns" on the belt buckle (or if you were in the SS:"Meine Ehre heißt Treue")...

It is a shame the changed it from "Gott Mit Uns" to "Enigheit - Recht - Freiheit". "Gott Mit Uns" was such an integrated part of the belt appearance. Something they had done since pre WWI.

But I guess that is the consequence of loosing two world wars and being ruled by a madman for 12 years...

No, it is a logical and welcome consequence of the separation between state and church. And the assumption that a god should be on the side of a particular nation is perverse.
